Safe Room Grant Application Assistant

The Individual Shelter (Safe Room) Program provides financial assistance to an individual homeowner to place an individual shelter (safe room) at their primary residence. The program will not provide reimbursement for work done prior to the grant being awarded. After being awarded the grant, the homeowner is responsible for paying the full cost of the shelter up front and filing for reimbursement. The program will reimburse the homeowner 75% of the cost of the shelter up to a maximum reimbursement of $4,000.00. The homeowner is responsible for ensuring that the installed shelter meets FEMA 320 standards (http://www.fema.gov/plan/prevent/saferoom/fema320.shtm). The homeowner is also responsible for ensuring that the shelter is installed by a licensed contractor and meets all applicable state and local code requirements.

This application will use Remagen Safe Rooms as the safe room manufacturer and will accommodate garage and basement installations only. For new construction or retrofit safe rooms, give us a call at (727) 687-7876.
